Solar Orbiter orbit
Solar Orbiter utilizes gravitational assist flybys of Venus and Earth to come close to the Sun and to increase the latitude of the orbit away from the ecliptic. There are several launch windows. The animation below shows the orbit for the launch in the beginning of 2017.
