Abstract

In March of 2023 an interplanetary coronal mass ejection (ICME) was observed by three differentspacecraft: Solar Orbiter (SolO), WIND and Stereo-A. The ICME was first observed by SolO, beinglocated at a distance of 0.6 AU away from the Sun, reaching SolO on the 14th of March 2023. Onthe 15th, the following day, the ICME reached WIND and Stereo-A spacecraft and Earth. In thisproject the radial evolution of the ICME was analyzed and compared to theoretical expectationsand observational data. Furthermore, measurements from magnetometers on Earth were alsoanalyzed. The ICME was found to follow the theoretical expectation of expansion quite well. Itwas also found to be geoeffective, consequently causing a substorm.
