ISDAT Development Model
In order to test the new software concepts in a real environment, the ISDAT development followed an evolutionary model in the first phases, with a prototype (version 0.0) built for the already available Viking satellite data. Thereafter, the package was used in practice for the Freja satellite data (version 1.0), involving numerous improvements and enhancements compared to the Viking prototype. For the Cluster application, a more traditional "waterfall" development model is followed (version 2.0). Within the Cluster CSDS project the ISDAT is constituting one component of the ESA provided "User Interface" used to access and analyze the Cluster scientific data bases residing at a number of National Data Centres. In the CSDS context, the ISDAT development is subject to external project control and reviews.Back to ISDAT home page.
